PASIGHAT, Jun 17:    Retired Divisional Forest Officer and one of the first known lyricist & composer of songs among the Adi community Taying Mize passed away at the age of 66 years after a prolonged illness at his home at Mirku village, Pasighat on Thursday.

 

He served All India Radio as Asst. Director from 1972-78 and then later got absorbed in forest services as Range Forest Officer on 28th April 1981and retired as DFO on 30th June 2009.  Late Mize is also said to be one of the first lyricist and composer of Adi song (luli miri) among Adi community. Some of his best songs which are widely remembered are Kaju Angong Giilaju (sung by Jomya Siram), Tani Giida sim Kangkipa ngo (sung by Moge Doji) and Nome ngo kenmape apiem bisito ngo (sung by Tamat Jerang).

 

Lok Sabha MP Ninong Ering, former Health Minister Dr. Tangor Tapak and others have deeply mourned the untimely demises of Mize. He is survived by wife, son and three daughters.
