PASIGHAT, Jan 16: Raising strong concern over the possible review of existing rate of compensation for land affected people under North East Frontier Railway Track line laying to Pasighat, the Phase-II land affected people have strongly appealed the concern authorities not to do injustice with them.

Speaking about the possible reviewing of existing rate of land compensation, Gagam Ering and Uku Dai, President and General Secretary have appealed the concern authorities of North East Frontier Railway to follow the existing rate as per Phase-I compensation given. The duo further quoted that, all the project affected families under Pasighat administration had accepted the project as a boon which would boost socio-economic condition of the whole area.

But while the Phase-II compensation is yet to be given, we have came to know from sources that the existing rate of compensation is going to be reviewed/minimized from that of the Phase-I compensation rate which if true will be an injustice to us, they said.

To this effect, the Lok Sabha MP, Ninong Ering has also written to the concern Ministry of Railway for hearing the grievances of the project affected people who have willingly accepted the new development in the region who earlier had showed reluctance in parting away their agricultural lands due to ignorance.
