ITANAGAR, Jan 23: The Itanagar capital police on Tuesday, launched the first edition of Cyber crime awareness handbook and, also, handed over 75 stolen and lost cell phones to the denizens of Itanagar Capital Region (ICR) under the ‘Khoya Paya Abhiyaan’, held here.
Director General of Police (DGP), Anand Mohan, who launched the first edition of the cyber crime awareness handbook, said that it is a comprehensive handbook prepared by the Itanagar capital police, which covers all aspects of cyber crime usually faced by the public of ICR. The book also includes the measures that can be undertaken to protect oneself.
Lauding the efforts of capital Police for the initiative, he also raised the motto of “Citizens First” for every police personnel to follow and urged people to come forward with their grievances to police without hesitation
Speaking about the ‘Khoya Paya Abhiyan’, capital SP, Rohit Rajbir Singh said that it is an initiative run by Itanagar Capital Police for the past 5 months at Police Station level where complaints of stolen and lost cell phones are taken up.
Subsequently, the cell phones are recovered and restored back to its rightful owner. He said the capital Police has recovered more than 150 cell phones under the initiative.
“The programme marks the first instance where Khoya Paya Abhiyan was taken up at a centralised level and 75 cell phones were recovered in the last month and was handed over to the rightful owners of the cell phones marking the celebration of the upcoming 75th republic day,” he added.
