PASIGHAT, Oct 9:  Along with rest of the country the intensified mission Indradhanush to sensitize compulsory vaccination of babies between 0-2 years age was launched here at Pentecostal Assembly of God Church, PI Line Pasighat on Sunday.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Tatok Gao, DRCHO, Dr. Mandip Perme, DMO and Tamiyo Tatak, DC, Pasighat urged and advised the Church people to spread messages of compulsory vaccination to get the child between 0-2 years fully immunized. Dr. Gao and Dr. Perme elaborated the people about importance of immunization and how it can protect a child from any diseases.

The duo also took reference of recent incident in Anjaw where Measles break out took lives of at least 5 children as they were not immunized.

DC, Tamiyo Tatak also addressed the gathering.

On the part of World Health Organization representatives from Guwahati, Dr. Subhajit Bhattacharjee and Dr. Tage Taka from Naharlagun who also witnessed the launching said that, the programme in East Siang is satisfactory baring some villages where ignorant parents are reluctant to immunize their children. They said that, pain of vaccination for sometime won’t cause any harm to the babies, but unvaccinated children will be prone to many kind of diseases.
