ITANAGAR, Jun 17:

The Indian National Fellowship Centre (INFC), Mumbai has assured its full support and will mentor the young people from North Eastern Region in general and Arunachal Pradesh in particular as their commitment and endeavours towards educational and economic empowerment of the people of strategic border states of the nation. Apart from this INFC will also be taking up various projects to support schools in Arunachal Pradesh to strengthen education and related infrastructure. The INFC members conveyed their assurance in the interaction and cultural exchange programme of the ten-day Educational, Emotional and National Integration Home stay in Mumbai on June 15 last.

Indian National Fellowship Centre, which sponsored the Home stay on the advice of Governor of Arunachal Pradesh and Nagaland PB Acharya, hopes that the Arunachalee Youth Group from Puroik Community would go back and work for national integration, welfare and betterment of the state and community.

After a 9 day jam packed tour in the city of dreams - Mumbai the Puroik team was given homely informal fun-filled farewell. Dance and emotional speeches ruled the evening. The evening was attended by members of Indian National Fellowship Centre, well-wishers who made the whole tour possible and students of Sathaye College. The students from Sathaye College presented local Maharashtrian Dances and a street play while the Puroik team mesmerised the audience with traditional dances and a folk song. What left the hosts zapped was the Puroik team performing a short Marathi song inviting the monsoons. It was a surprise which they had planned as a treat for the hosts.

Many participants from the Puroik community expressed their gratitude for all the love they received in Mumbai. The hosts were also presented beautiful gifts which the team had brought along with them like gaale for the women, jacket and muffler for the women. The hosts loved the traditional weaves.

It may be mentioned here that Governor Acharya had conducted many home stays for the youths from Arunachal Pradesh since 1967. Many senior citizens like former Commissioner TT Gamdik, Pema Wanchen, former administrator Sange Tsering Khampa and Leki Phuntso and number of people availed benefits from those initiatives.
