ITANAGAR, Oct 31:The 33rd martyrdom day of former Prime Minister of India, Indira Gandhi was observed by Arunachal Pradesh Congress Committee at Rajiv Gandhi Bhawan , Itanagar on Tuesday.

President, APCC, Takam Sanjoy paid floral tribute to the portrait of late Gandhi in presence of party members.

In his address, Sanjoy remembered the supreme sacrifice made by the late prime minister for the unity and integrity of the country.

He stated that the late Gandhi never known to flee from challenges and took up one radical step followed by another for national peace and communal harmony during his tenure as PM of India.

He further described the first lady PM as an inspiration especially for women folk and appealed the women party workers to take a pledge to follow her values and ideals and spread the message of communal harmony, unity and integrity.

A two minute silence was observed as mark of respect to the soul and a short video on the life history of Indira was also screened.
