ITANAGAR, Aug 4:Special Secretary, RD, Nyali Ete has emphasized on inclusion of women in developmental activities which will eventually lead to alleviation of poverty in the state.

Ete was addressing the state level programme cum bankers meeting on financial inclusion organized by the Arunachal State Rural Livelihoods Mission (ArSRLM) here on August 1 last which was attended by representatives of banks of the capital complex.

The Special Secretary also mentioned that dimensions of poverty here may be different as compared to the rest of the country in terms of access to resources available in the state.

CEO cum State Mission Director, Tabin Siga gave a brief overview of functioning of ArSRLM and also mentioned that National Resource Organization (NROs) namely; Orvakal Mandal Podhupu Lakshmi Ikya Sangam (OMPLIS), Hyderabad and BRLPS, Bihar is providing handholding support in capacity building of staff as well as community cadres.

Mr. Trivikram, National Mission Manager (Financial Inclusion), NMMU, MoRD, Govt. of India gave an overview of DAY-NRLM and its financial inclusion framework and strategy for enabling the institutions of poor to access credit linkages for taking multiple livelihood activities.

Hillang Tasap, SMM (Financial Inclusion) Itanagargave a brief presentation on financial inclusion and investment strategy for making the poor the preferred clients of the banking system and mobilizing bank credit through financial literacy and credit counsel, promotion of MCP-based lending, deployment of bank Ajing (Sakhi) and last mile banking services, exposure of bankers etc.
