ITANAGAR, Jan 9:The Capital Police, in an effort to provide better and hassle-free health check-ups for the capital police personnel, organized a 2-day free health screening camp in collaboration with TRIHMS at the SP office here on Tuesday.
The free health screening camp will offer comprehensive medical check-ups, non-communicable diseases screening, free lab tests, eye examinations, BMI screening, and at the same time free medicines, etc.
Capital SP, Rohit Rajbir Singh told reporters that the camp will provide comprehensive free health check-ups to the entire police personnel of the capital complex, irrespective of any police unit. Around 6 doctors are engaged in the camp, who will work round the clock in shifts.
He said that the camp which started today would also continue the next day. On the second day, a blood donation drive will be carried out by a voluntary organization.
Singh, said that prior to the camp, the department analysed the health data of the entire capital police personnel. The analysis was necessary to identify the health reasons which caused physical constraints during work. Also, the welfare funds were analysed, for which the personnel availed medical treatments.
“Following the data analysis, we have found that hypertension, obesity, stress, diabetes, Gynae, pulmonary, etc are a few health issues faced by the personnel. Therefore, we have organized the free health camp to ensure their better health,” Singh said, adding that most of the health issues arise due to long-standing duties.
The department has made a health performa which will be filed by the doctors after the check-up. One copy will be provided to the police personnel, and the other will be attached to their service sheet for future remarks. Subsequently, on the advice of the doctors, if needed, the duty roaster will also be changed.
The SP said that, if not seasonal, the capital police department will continue the camp annually. He also appealed to the respective SPs of the districts to conduct similar health camps for the well-being of the police personnel.
