ITANAGAR, Dec 7: Hundreds of people comprising family members, relatives ,students and well wishers joined the candle light vigil seeking justice for former MLA Ngurang Pinch which was organized by the family members and Achi Dopum Welfare Society here at Itanagar today.
Addressing the gathering, daughter of late Pinch, Ngurang Meena extended gratitude to the people who attended the meet in a show of solidarity and to press for justice for her father.
‘He was a true human being whose first love was politics and social work; he devoted his life for the downtrodden people,’ she added.
While reiterating the death as not an accident but a pre-planned murder, Meena questioned the investigating team for not arresting and interrogating the other 20 members who were present during the incident.
‘ On November 17 last, 21 members went on rafting and on November 18 the body of my father was recovered that too early morning but till late afternoon no family members were informed about the incident. Such act proves that something foul happened to my father,’ stated Meena.
Further, she also claimed that mobile phone of her father was also recovered through one of the accused Ngurang Abraham but to their utter surprise the phone is locked with password just to manipulate the phone details, as her father never used to do such things.
The candle light vigil that began from Dera Natung Government College, Itanagar culminated at Tennis Court, IG Park with tribute and homage paid by family members, relatives and well-wishers.
Since the day of the incident, the family is claiming foul play over the incident and demanding impartial and speedy enquiry of the case.
Former MLA of Doimukh constituency and Chairman Arunachal Pradesh Agriculture Marketing Board (APAMB) , Ngurang Pinch was found dead at Hatimatha in Papum Pare district on November 18 last.
