JOLLANG/ITANAGAR, Dec 22:
Himalayan University today held its first Convocation at its Jollang campus which saw a total of 410 students from various disciplines being awarded degrees and diplomas.
Attending the programme as chief guest, RK Mission Hospital Secretary, Swami Vishweshananda in his address to the students said that graduation is not the end but the beginning of lifelong learning process and they are just stepping into the next phase of their life.
 
Pointing out that education is a lifelong process, Swami ji further advised the recipients of degrees not to forget the teaching and the skills they have learnt from the institute and urged them to utilize the power of education to enlighten society.
Guest of honour, Executive Director, Rambhau Mhalgi Probodhini, Ravinder Sathe advised the recipients to inculcate reading habit to have a sensible outlook towards issues in various fields.
Underscoring that a nation cannot rise without its people having sense of patriotism, Sathe urged the new graduates to identify their potential then develop it, and utilize it for the development of the nation.
Emphasizing on having a right attitude for achieving success in their endeavour, he said that mere knowledge is not enough and that it should be backed by skills.
Himalayan University, a private university established in 2013, has a strength of about 2500 students, and has faculty of Art, Commerce, Science, D Pharma, Special Education, Social Work, Library Science, Civil Engineering and MBA.
