PASIGHAT, Jan 21: The Health Department here in the district under the initiative of District Medical Officer, Dr. Mandip Perme and DRCHO, Dr. Tatok Gao are making all out effort to ensure cent percent success of Measles Rubella Vaccination Campaign for which outreach programmes in villages are also being conducted.

While addressing a group of media persons, Dr. Perme and Dr. Gao said that, concerted effort and support from all quarters including each villagers and villages are needed to ensure complete eradication of the Measles and Rubella including role of media in spreading the awareness.

“In the next two weeks the vaccine will be provided to the children of age 9 months to less than 6 years and school dropout children in all Anganwadi Centres and Community Halls followed by last 1 week of sweeping activity to cover all missed out children. The Health department of the district is working closely with the Education and WCD departments to ensure success of the campaign”, added Dr. Perme.

Health department officials are also visiting all the schools in the urban and rural areas and training & orienting the teachers, ICDS functionaries, PRI members etc and disseminating awareness among the public to garner supports for the campaign. To this regard, Dy. Commissioner of the district has also directed all departments to support the campaign.
