PASIGHAT, Sep 5: The Jawaharlal Nehru College, Pasighat Unit of Galo Students’ Union and Pasighat Municipal Council jointly conducted a cleanliness drive at market area under Swachh Bharat Mission here today.

GSU JNC Unit led by its President, Geken Ango and General Secretary Kenmin Gamlin and other actively participated in the cleanliness drive.  The objective of cleanliness was to create awareness among the citizen of Pasighat towards civic sense as part of preparedness for Pasighat smart city. 

Pasighat Municipal Council led by Chief Councilor, Kaling Doruk,  sanitary staffers participated in the clean drive while pressing in PMC  vehicles for lifting and dumping away the garbage.

While appreciating the noble effort of GSU JNC Unit, Doruk said that, other students also need to carry out such voluntary clean drive for beautification of Pasighat township which is now selected for development as Smart City.

While appealing citizens of Pasighat to keep their respective colonies, community wards, parks, compounds and roads clean, Doruk said cleanliness and beauty goes hand in hand and also spoke on ‘Ek kadam swachhata ki ore’ and ‘Safai mein bhalai hai’.
