YUPIA, Aug 7:Deputy Commissioner Papum Pare, Tai Kaye conducted a meeting with all heads of 

departments including DDOs to discuss the implementation of GST (Goods & Service Tax) before August 15 next at Yupia today.

The DC while addressing the gathering informed that the government is giving more emphasis on implementation of GST before August 15 next in all districts and all concerned need to work on it to make it happen. 

He further said that GST concept is quite new for all and it requires proper guidance and knowledge 
prior to its implementation and requested the officers to take full advantage of the discussion and try 
to implement the GST as per deadline given by the government.

Resource person on the occasion Tax Practitioner and Consultant Dilip Khandelwal highlighted on 
the various implications of the GST and its implementation. He also cleared the doubts and confusion of officers on technicalities of GST.

During the meeting DDOs pointed out that proper trainings and workshops are necessary for DDOs 
to implement it smoothly however till date no such trainings have been given on GST. They also expressed their confusion on registration process as registration have to be done through online process but web portal of GST registration is yet to be activated and registration is only possible after the activation of the website.

All heads of the department, administrative officers, Inspectors of Tax and Excise were present during the meeting.
