ITANAGAR, May 22:Governor BD Mishra, who is on a four-day tour by road to two districts of Kra Daadi and Kurung Kumey addressed a public meeting at Palin, Kra Daadi today.

Speaking on the occasion, the Governor said for development, the most important aspects are road and IT communications. He said that it the responsibility of every citizen to facilitate construction of road.

Citing recent inaugural flight from Pasighat airport, the Governor said that land compensation should not be a hurdle in the developmental process. He advised that the people must explore ways to gift the land and if at all required, it should be reasonable. He fervently appealed the people for their cooperation in land compensation issue.

The Governor said that they are large number of developmental schemes, programmes and projects which are in various stages of implementation. These programmes will be beneficial to the people, if it is implemented with transparency, accountability, continuity, review and audit and if required midterm correction. He appealed to the people to be partners in the developmental process by ensuring that the programmes are implemented honestly and vigorously. Our effort must to see that development reach to the last village of the State, he asserted.

The programme implemented today must be beneficial to the present and future generations, the Governor underscored.

Emphasizing that the health and education sectors be given top priority, the Governor requested the people representatives in the State Legislative Assembly to contribute in these sectors with MLALAD fund, particularly medical equipment and washrooms for girls in schools. He also expressed his concern about tendency of soft posting by teachers and doctors.

Informing about Army Recruitment, the Governor said that the people of Arunachal Pradesh are the sentinel of the Nation. He requested the Gaon Burahs, Panchayat leaders, elders and government officials to motivate and prepare the youth to join Indian Army.

Stating that 60 % of the State’s population is farmers, the Governor appealed to the agrarian community to be progressive, innovative and experiment new crops, better crops and cash crops. He also emphasized on agricultural entrepreneurship.

The Governor asked the security personnel and agencies to guarantee safety and security of the fairer gender. Every citizen has to shoulder responsibility to ensure that there is no misdemeanor against our daughters, sisters and mothers, he added.  

Local MLA Takam Pario, Tali MLA Er. Markio Tado, Kra Daadi Deputy Commissioner Pige Ligu and Rido Meena, Zilla Parishad Chairperson spoken on the occasion. They expressed their gratitude to the Governor for the visit, which is the first visit by a Governor after it became district in 2015 and that too by road.
