ITANAGAR, Nov 17: A delegation of Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS), Arunachal Pradesh State Branch called on Governor BD Mishra at Raj Bhavan on Thursday.

In his first meeting with members of IRCS, the Governor, who is the President of the State Branch of IRCS urged them to work with spirit of service towards the needy and hapless during emergencies of disasters. He advised the volunteers to meet regularly and train maximum number of people in first aid, disaster management and emergency help methods.

The Governor emphasised that the Red Cross must have a concrete and sustainable mobilization plan for meeting the challenges of any type of untoward incidence. He exhorted the volunteers to be ready round the clock to face any challenge at short notice and help the people at the time of need and emergency.

Earlier, Honorary Secretary briefed the Governor on the activities of the Red Cross Society in the State. The Secretary also apprised him of the challenges of the State Branch to which the Governor assured them of his full support.

IRCS Arunachal Pradesh State Branch Vice President, Er. Tomi Ete, Honorary Secretary Dr. Emi Rumi, President Youth Red Cross Committee Demo Dada, Treasurer Dr. Marto Ette and members Adv. Tame Anuk, Mito Rumi, ACF, Sailen Kar and Dr. Marli Ette attended the meeting.
