DAPORIJO, Jun 30:Calling government officers to be thorough about various welfare scheme and programmes, Governor PB Acharya observed that the below par accomplishment in implementation reflects the lethargy and indifference of the officials.   He urged upon the officers to enrol at least five persons in Jan Dhan Yojana, Mudra Bank and other schemes.

The Governor was speaking to District Heads of Department of Lower Subansiri District at Ziro today on his final leg of the four-day, two district tour of Upper and Lower Subansiri Districts.

Parliamentary Secretary for Food and Civil Supplies cum local MLA Tage Taki, Deputy Commissioner Kemo Lollen and Superintendent of Police Bomge Kamduk along with officers from various departments attended the meeting.

The Governor also suggested the officials, involving lady officers to brainstorm on Beti Bachao Beti Padhao programme so that every girl child benefits from it.

Earlier, interacting with political and Panchayat leaders from various political parties and public, the Governor appealed them to rise above political agenda and assist the District Administration in implementation of various welfare programmes. He advised them to stand against corruption.

 Representative from Apatani Women Association requested the Governor for a rehabilitation centre at Ziro for mentally challenged individuals.

The representatives from Farmers Association called for Governor’s assistance in addressing the challenges of the farmers.

On Saturday, the Governor participated in the cleanliness drive organised by the District Administration under Swachh Bharat Mission (SBM).

Asserting that the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan is neither an event nor a symbolic gesture, he urged people to make cleanliness a way of life. ‘Till our home, colonies, towns and cities are clean; we cannot have progress in real sense of the term,’ he underscored.
