ITANAGAR, Feb 6: Governor Brig.(Dr.) B. D. Mishra (Retd.) has condoled the demise of legendary singer, Bharat Ratna Lata Mangeshkar. He said that in the passing away of Lata Didi, the nation has lost the voice that has mesmerised not only the country but the entire globe cutting across race, religion, region, nationality and language. Lata ji, by her magical voice, had more than validated the dictum that music and melody are universal.
The Governor said that Lata ji’s song ‘Aye mere watan ke logo’ holds an unique emotional bond for every Indian. The song was written and composed following the 1962 Chinese aggression on India.  Having had a setback in the sudden undeclared war, the nation was in deep shock and needed some motivation to hold on. It was at this juncture that Lata ji rendered this famous song in her magical voice. It not only touched the nationalism of every Indian citizen but also immortalized her love for the country. "The deep emotions of her voice during the rendition of the song brought tears to the eyes of every Indian," he said.

The Governor said that Bharat Ratna Lata Mangeshkar’s voice with an unparalleled ability to fascinate people shall forever remain for all humanity to recall, cherish and adore. Her demise has left a void in our national musical talent that cannot be filled.
