ITANAGAR, Feb 2:

Continuing his endeavour to instil the habit of cleanliness amongst the denizens of the Capital city under the theme ‘Hamara Elan Swachhta aur Nari Utthan’, Governor BD Mishra along with Raj Bhavan team participated in the cleanliness drive conducted by the Itanagar Municipal Council at Bank Tinali, Itanagar today.

The Governor appreciated the effort of the residents of the area for keeping the place cleaner than many others. He appealed to the residents to make it their habit to keep their place clean.

The Governor led the cleaning of the Parking lot of Urban Department, which was littered with liquor bottles and garbage. He asked the Capital Complex Superintendent of Police to put up signage along with regular patrolling of the area to maintain the premises.

The Governor, reiterated for providing spots of public utilities in public places like Bank Tinali. He advised the officials of Itanagar Municipal Council to take up such projects at the earliest.

Interacting with shopkeepers and residents of the area, the Governor advised them to keep their surroundings clean, utilize dustbins and segregate bio-degradable and non-biodegradable wastes in separate disposal bags.

The Governor was impressed by the effort put in by members of C-1 Sector Women Self Help Group in keeping the main Tadar Tang Marg clean.

Chief Municipal Councillor Kipa Kaku, Deputy Chief Municipal Councillor Tarh Nachung, Ward Councillor  Tadik Tagru along with members from C-1 Sector Women Self Help Group led by Naker Rinyo, Indo Tibetan Border Police personnel, shopkeepers of Bank Tinali area and other volunteers enthusiastically participated in the cleanliness drive.
