ITANAGAR, Nov 14:
Governor BD Mishra gave away the prizes to the winners of State Level Painting Competition on Energy Conservation, organized by NHPC to promote energy conservation and prevent energy misuse at State Banquet Hall, Itanagar. The prize distribution was preceded by a cultural programme presented by young children of various schools.
The Governor, at the very outset, complimented the children as the event coincided with the Children’s Day celebration observed all over the country. He emphasized on the need for change in mindset towards energy wastage and energy preservation.
He termed the children who had participated in the painting competition as the young catalyst for bringing in a better energy future for the Nation.
The Governor appealed to the energy producing institutions, energy distributors, the consumers and society at large to work for energy conservation and avoid misuse of energy.
While emphasizing on the shortage of energy in the country, he urged upon all sections of society to work for expanding the existing energy sources and invent alternate sources.
The Governor made a joint resolve with all present, to ensure that each one should save energy and motivate others to do so.
The Governor complimented the NHPC for organizing the awareness programme to meet the critical challenge of energy shortage in our country.
First Lady of the State, Neelam Mishra and Executive Director, NHPC Ronel Kumar were present on the occasion amongst others.
