ITANAGAR, Aug 20:Breaking his silence on the Lower Siang issue, Chief Minister Pema Khandu today said that understanding the gravity of the issue the report will be placed in the next cabinet meeting for appropriate decision.
‘It shall be the sincere effort of the government to bring this matter to a closure soon while respecting the sentiments of all stakeholders. However administrative convenience and ease of governance must be objectively assessed in the larger interest for operationalisation of the proposed district in particular and the state as a whole,’ the CM said in a statement released by the chief minister’s office.
The Group of Ministers (GoM) headed by Minister Food & Civil Supplies, Kamlung Mossang with Minister PHE & WS, Bamang Felix and Minister Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Dr. Mohesh Chai as members constituted by the state government to study the Lower Siang issue has already submitted their report to the government on July 25 last. The same was submitted to the chief secretary by the member secretary of the GoM.
