DOIMUKH, Jan 4: A girl aged around 20 years, identified as Balo Mina, resident of Nirjuli  was found hanging with her scarf tied around her neck below the bridge over Dikrong river at Doimukh, which is used as shortcut route by locals  to reach Doimukh this morning, police said on Friday.

When contacted SP, Tumme Amo  said on receipt of information Doimukh Police reached the spot and the body was recovered in presence of the family members at 7:30 am  this morning.

“A UD case has been registered at Doimukh Police Station vide case no- 1/18 u/s-174CRPc and probe launched to ascertain the cause of the death,” informed Amo adding that the body has been handed over to the family members after conducting all formalities for last rites.
