ITANAGAR, Dec 15: Green Arunachal Foundation (GAF) an NGO based in Itanagar has filed a complaint to the Chief Vigilance Officer (CVC) against improper distribution of fund worth Rs 60 crore under State Disaster Response Fund (SDRD) in the Department of Disaster Management.
Speaking to reporters at press club today, Chairman GAF Takam Tatung alleged that as per RTI documents, the department has sanctioned funds worth Rs 60 crore to various work departments for different works without consulting the State Executive Committee.
‘As per norms, the department has to consult or sit for a meeting with the State Executive Committee for diversion or approval of fund to various work departments but as per RTI documents the last SEC meeting was held on 23rd September 2016 whereas funds were mostly sanctioned during 2017,’ he said.
Meanwhile, GAF also sought inquiry against various officials posted as Officer on Special Duty (OSD) in the Chief Minister’s Office claiming them to be foreign nationals allegedly from Tibet.
‘Appointment of such officials in the state’s top office is compromising national as well as state’s security which needs to be inquired by central investigation agencies,’ Tatung added.
