PASIGHAT, Oct 6:  First Referral Unit, Ruksin performed a successful Facio-Maxillary surgery on a patient suffering from Pleomorphic Adenoma- commonest benign tumour of the Parotid gland on Thursday at the unit.

FRU medical officer in-charge Dr. K Jonnom informed that, although known to be benign, Pleomorphic adenoma has the potential to become malignant.

The team was headed by Dr Kayon Ratan MDS (Facio-Maxillary) currently posted under NOHP and Dr Tayem Dupak MS (General Surgery), Dr Kohon Borang ,Sr. Anaesthetist and OT team.

The surgery went on smoothly and the patient is said to be doing well.

‘With requisite support from the state, team FRU Ruksin is ready to scale more heights in the field of Facio-maxillary surgery and in other disciplines of Medicine like General Surgery, Paediatric, Ophthalmology, Obstetrics and Gynaecology care etc to benefit the needy patients,’ added Dr. Jonnom.
