PASIGHAT, May 10: Patients admitted at the state’s oldest healthcare centre, Bakin Pertin General Hospital, Pasighat have raised huge concern over the repeated power cuts at the hospital despite the premises being a special zone for uninterrupted power supply.
An attendant who spoke to this scribe claimed that power supply to the Pay Cabins were not cut, whereas general wards faced power cuts far too long.
Clarifying on the situation, Medical Superintendent Dr. YR Darang said that short power cuts is routine as the hospital mostly depends on the electrical department. "The DG sets are kept for emergency use only as its operation costs high fuel intake," the MS said on claims of inequitable power supply in the hospital.
Meanwhile, patients and their attendants have appealed to the medical authorities and the power department to look into such frequent power cuts in places of public importance.
