ITANAGAR, Sep 5: Responding to the clarification of Chief Minister Pema Khandu on the Tibetan Rehabilitation Policy,  Green Arunachal Foundation (GAF) has urged the CM to adopt a holistic approach on the issue and address it for the benefit of the local indigenous people of Arunachal Pradesh, rather than hobnobbing with the Tibetan refugees and favouring their cause.

‘GAF smells that there are many high profile officers descending in numerous departments in the state who have obtained Scheduled Tribe (ST) certificates and Permanent Residence Certificates (PRC) through fault and unfair means,’ stated the GAF in its release. The Chief Minister must make it sure that such officers’ services/jobs are scrapped and nullified, added the foundation.

Meanwhile, in its statement GAF also expressed concern over the breakdown of law and order situation in the capital complex. ‘Incidents of loot and murder by armed miscreants have become a common incident  in the capital complex,’ it said urging the Governor to exercise his constitutional powers and declare state of emergency to contain the law and order situation.
