ITANAGAR, May 2:  The Arunachal Indigenous Peoples Forum (AIPF) has appreciated the move of the Assam and Arunachal Pradesh governments headed by respective Chief Ministers in resolving the long pending inter-state boundary dispute between the states permanently.
Addressing the reporters at the press club today, President AIPF Nyader Loya said that during the two days second North East Indigenous Peoples Forum (NEIPF) conference held recently at Dimapur hosted by Nagaland Indigenous Peoples Forum (NIPF)  on April 30 last it was decided that the forum will thrive to create a conducive atmosphere for the indigenous people of the northeast state for sharing common interest and issues.
The NEIPF primary focus is to draw the attention of the respective state government to address interstate boundary disputes with utmost care and devoid of hurting the sentiments of the locals. The forum will also make efforts in pursuit to preserve the traditional values and cultural practices of the indigenous community. Likewise, the respective state governments of the northeast should ensure that indigenous people are involved in every decision concerning the people and land, Loya said.
Among others, NEIPF Co-Convener Kipa Kanam and AIPF General Secretary Tarh Atung also addressed the media at the conference and their respective role in the forum.
