 ITANAGAR, May 18:   The Yazali Zilla Trans Arunachal Highway Compensation Deprived Forum has claimed embezzlement of compensation money worth Rs 188 crore especially in the area from Potin to Joram Top under Lower Subansiri district and demanded CBI inquiry into the whole episode.

Addressing media persons at Press club, Advisor YZTAHCDF, Bengia Tolum claimed that state government who used to endorse corruption-free state, has failed to stand on its claim as huge corruption is going on under the nose of the state government. 

Due to the corrupt practices by some bureaucrats in the concern district there is discrepancy in disbursement of compensation amount against the Trans Arunachal Highway (TAH), he asserted.

He further alleged that the officials have disbursed huge compensation to the people who don’t even possess land in the area, whereas on the other end, the genuine land owners are being deprived of legitimate land compensation amount.

We have submitted memorandum to DCM Chowna Mein  who is also the Minister for PWD, Governor of Arunachal Pradesh but till date  inquiry has been made in the said  huge land compensation corruption  in the state, informed Tolum.

Tolum added that as per RTI documents it has been exposed that land compensation amount disbursed to some of the victims is totally different from what is actually mentioned in the DPR as well as in the Ministry of Road, Transport and Highway (MoRTH).

Substantiating his claim, he informed that one Bengia Tach whose land compensation amount as per the DPR is more than 34 lakhs but has been paid Rs 15 lakhs instead.
