ITANAGAR, Dec 19: Election campaign for the December 21 bye-poll to 12-Pakke-Kessang and 28-Likabali Assembly Constituencies ended at 4PM today. With this polling parties have started to collect the polling materials from respective District Election Offices to start their journey to the far flung polling stations.

Elaborate security arrangements have been made for peaceful conduct of the election process.

The Chief Electoral Officer in a release today informed that sufficient numbers of state police including 4 companies of Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) from outside the state have been deployed. Furthermore, critical polling stations will be covered by CAPF and IRBn personnel.

Polling personnel have been trained for operating EVM/VVPAT and in other election procedures. Awareness programme for VVPAT which will be used for the first time in the State was also organised in various locations.

A total of 7455 electors (Male 3512, Female 3943) will cast their votes in Pakke-Kessang in 26 polling stations with polling personnel of 150. In Likabali, 10608 electors (Male 5277, Female 5331) will cast their votes in 39 polling stations with a total 220 polling personnel.

Notified counting halls have been set up in both the districts for counting of votes on December 24 next.
