PASIGHAT, Sep 26:

 

In view of the peaceful celebration of ensuing Durga Pooja festival, the East Siang District Magistrate, Tamiyo Tatak in an executive order has prohibited playing of any kinds of Gambling including Lottery/Housie/ Dice etc in public places within its jurisdiction.

 

The ban  has been imposed while considering the negative social ramifications of such activities on citizens and  youth in particular.

 

 Anybody found violating the order shall be dealt with as per provision of Law including 188 IPC, the order further said.
