PASIGHAT, Aug 14: As a part of their continued effort to crackdown on drug peddling and its use, the Women Against Social Evils (WASE) along with Pasighat police have achieved another success by nabbing a drug peddler on Sunday night from Jarku village after keeping  constant vigil on his movement since last one month.

Informing about the incident, Joya Tasung Moyong, General Secretary, WASE said that, they have been keeping constant vigil over the movement of peddler one Anand Moyong from a month after knowing his activities from sources. After confirmation of his procurement of Brown Sugar supply from Assam on Sunday, we informed police and finally at around 8.30 PM a joint raid was carried out at his residence and small shop (Gumti) and packets of Brown Sugar and Ganja was recovered. Two of his friends, Lorence Kadu and Obang Melong were also caught at the time of raid. Moyong also informed that, Lorence Kadu was earlier found to be involved in drug using case.

In this connection, Pasighat Police has registered a case vide Pasighat PS Case No. 140/17 U/S 21(b) NDPS Act and Moyong has been arrested.

Meanwhile, the WASE activists have also appealed Joint. Director Health Services, Bakin Pertin General Hospital, Pasighat Dr. Kabang Lego not to let the drugs supplied to patients of OST be used outside the centre.
