ITANAGAR, Aug 22: Union Minister for Science and Technology, Dr Harsh Vardhan urged the people of Arunachal to join hands in accomplishing the dream of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Swacch Bharat Mission (SBM) by making the state and country free from all kind of garbage. The Minister is on his maiden two-day visit to the state capital.

Participating in the cleanliness program being organized by the City BJP unit  under  ‘ Naya Bharat Manthan’   initiative here at Rama Krishna Mission  Hospital  premises, Dr Vardhan along with state Power Minister Tamiyo Taga, Parliamentary Secretary for RD & Panchayati Raj, Mama Natung,  Parliamentary Secretary for Tax & Excise, Science & Technology  Tapak Taku ,  local MLA cum PS for UD, Housing & Town Planning Techi Kaso, PS for  Legal Metrology and Consumer Affairs, Laisam Simai  and city BJP workers cleaned the hospital premises.

While speaking to media on the sidelines of the program, Union Minister said ‘In 2014 Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the SBM so that the country would be free from garbage.’

 He further added the dream of a clean India would be accomplished only if all citizens take a firm resolve to stop littering in public places and others.

‘I am thankful to City BJP unit for organizing the SBM program, however it is not only the duty of a political party or other organization but it is the duty and responsibility of every citizen of this country to keep their town, village and city clean,’ he said.

While extending gratitude to Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, for placing unprecedented emphasis on cleanliness, Dr Vardhan urged the people of Arunachal to join hands in this revolutionary cleanliness mission to make the state and country free from garbage, pileups and unhygienic environment.
