ROING, Jul 25: A Sarva Dharam Sammelan (SDS) was organized by the BJP Minority Morcha (MM), of Lower Dibang Valley here today. This was organized with a view to uniting different religious groups in the state.

Advisor to Chief Minister, Sotai Kri in his speech said that the main objective of organizing SDS is to eradicate religious differences among the people. Religion and tradition are sides of the same coin which should walk side by side together, he said.

He advised the different communities of the district not to make any individual issues as communal agenda. If a person from any community does a mistake, that particular person should be held responsible instead of blaming the whole community, Sotai added.

Arunachal Pradesh has many different tribes and their own beliefs, faith and customs whose key concern should be of developing society in terms of education, health, cleanliness and brotherhood.

Advising the MM workers, he said that if MM works well in the district, block, booth and mandal levels dedicatedly then automatically the party will gain its objective to bring all the people under one group.

State MM president Loku Sono said every individual has his own choice of faith and follow any religion and BJP was never against any particular religion since the party’s inception.

A few vested groups and opposition leaders for their personal benefits are bringing the issue of religion to create misunderstandings, he added.

Nagaland state president for MM, Mukibur Rahman speaking on secularism, communal peace and harmony stated that, sense of being secular is within every individual of the state and country as a whole.

One should also know that the word secularism came after many years of independence after Dr. BR Ambedkar initialed the word in the constitution. Those were the days when a Hindu king built many Mosques and they lived in harmony.

“Following and believing in any religion in a democratic country also puts responsibility on every individual to thrive for the betterment of society and the country,”  Rahman added.

Former MLA of Roing Laeta Umbrey, state vice president Kishan Morcha Dature Miuli, Parliamentary Secretary WRD Gum Tayeng along with hundreds of local people were present.
