AALO, Jul 3:The West Siang administration has lifted the ban on poultry birds after getting assurance from the Veterinary department that transported poultry birds are being closely monitored. However, transportation of domestic animals like cattle, pigs and goats to the district via Pasighat-Likabali road continues to be banned to avoid spreading of food and mouth disease as preventive measures.
In view of the stray animals roaming in the town’s streets, the DA decided to issue one month notice to the owners of animals of the nearby villages to keep their animals away or face a penalty of Rs.3000 in the first instance and Rs. 5000 subsequently.
Labourers from district administration and line departments will be requisitioned to catch the loitering animals that cause public nuisance and creating unhygienic condition in the town and owners will be fined on daily basis in case of delay to take back the captured animals.
