PASIGHAT, Jul 13:  Strongly refuting the accusation of land encroachment made by executive engineer, Pasighat Electrical Division, the East Siang Deputy Commissioner clarified that, he has not encroached the department of power’s land as quoted in the complaint letter to Secretary,  Land Management for its cancellation.

Recently the office of the executive engineer, Pasighat Electrical Division in a letter to Secretary,  Land Management has appealed for cancellation of land allotment order issued to the East Siang deputy commissioner.

The complaint alleged that the plot of land with well-demarcated boundary wall behind the official residence of the executive engineer in the Officer’s Colony here was illegally allotted to deputy commissioner.

In his clarification, DC Tamiyo  Tatak refuted the accusation and said that there was no boundary wall nor there had been any fencing at the time of occupation of the said plot of land which was earlier possessed by one Tanong Tatak who had grown banana plants  in the plot way back in 2005.

The DC further clarified that  his allotted plot of land does not obstruct or encroached any land allotted to any department including the Department of Power till today.

“The allotment of said plot of land was done on the strength of a judgement from the Gauhati  High Court  vide Case No. WP (C) 165/2011, date of order 18/05/2011”, added Tatak while further quoting that  the district administration had issued notice to every department to obtain or apply land allotment to their respective premises, but no application came from the DoP.

Referring to the High Court ruling  which favoured Tatak’s  claim over the said plot of land,  he said “I didn’t do anything wrong and I am ready to face any enquiry if there is  any or I invite one, I will show them  all the relevant papers and will furnish all information.”

Meanwhile, when asked for his stance and accusation, Er. Joram Lali, former EE Power who has been recently transferred to Itanagar told this reporter that, whatever he has written to Secretary, Land Management is to protect the government land.
