ITANAGAR, Aug 23:The Deputy Commissioner, Capital Complex, Prince Dhawan on Wednesday inaugurated a recently installed 30 numbers of solar streetlights at Chimpu-I village and Bath-Ganga village, Itanagar.

Speaking as Chief Guest at Ganga, the DC informed that the District Administration has proposed to install 50 Solar streetlights, of which additional 20 would be installed very soon at ESS sector area.

Reiterating his commitment to ensure the safety and security of women, the DC hoped that the installation of solar lights would help bring down crime rate, road accidents etc and more importantly contribute to the overall development of the area.

Lauding the effort of APEDA for successfully completing the project in time, DC also assured citizens that DA would provide every help for the upliftment of the rural areas of the Capital Complex and asked the denizens to work in coordination with the DA.

Citing the importance of solar energy, APEDA Director, Marki Loya said that the use of petroleum products for energy would exhaust one day, therefore we need to have alternative sources of energy.

He also informed that under the Ujjala scheme, APEDA is issuing LED bulbs, tube lights and fans at subsidized rates.

Later, the DC also visited the classrooms to have first-hand information of the condition of the school and handed over 50 numbers of LED bulbs to the school authority.

Earlier ZPM Batt- Ganga ,Techi Meche, ZPM Batt- Ganga and Teli Yamang, ASM Chairperson appreciated the effort of the DA and APEDA.
