ITANAGAR, Nov 24: Deputy Commissioner Itanagar capital complex, Prince Dhawan on Friday inaugurated the mega health awareness and medical camp organized by Regional Ayurvedic Research institute (RARI) Itanagar at Government Middle School, Jollang to initiate “Swasthya Rakshan Programme” linked with Swachha Bharat Mission as per direction of the Ministry of AYUSH.
Program was organized to render clinical services (Swasthya Rakhshan OPD, Swasthya Parikshan Camps and heal/ hygiene awareness programme), free health checkup and counseling by specialist of Ayurveda. Demonstration of home remedies, raw drugs for treatment of common ailment and display of medicinal plants were part of the camp.
Two more free camps will be conducted on December 14 and 16 next at Poma Village and Chiputa village respectively.
During his speech the DC laid emphasis on ensuring cleanliness in the District. He informed the students about the revamped door to door garbage cleaning programme of IMC and asked them to collect their home garbage in segregated way and give it only to IMC labourers.
He further informed that District Administration has taken an initiative to provide water supply and functional toilets to all 80 schools of Itanagar Capital Complex and also give adequate furniture to each school. He requested the Headmasters to submit their furniture requirement to DC office timely for this purpose.
