PANGIN, Jun 15:A meeting was held today at Pangin , Siang District under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner  Rahul Singh, to discuss the issues regarding repair and maintenance of the Pangin-Aalo stretch of road.

SP Kushal Pal Singh, ADC Pangin, Tamik Talom, other admin officers of the headquarters, officers from the concerned departments of land and PWD (Highway), HGBs and GBs of Tarak, Lokpeng and Koreng village, public leaders from Pangin and Aalo and representatives of various stakeholder parties like Aalo Town People's welfare and Development Society (ATPWDS) and Adi Bane Kebang Siang unit were also present.

Addressing the meeting, the DC stated that for long commuters on the Pangin-Aalo stretch of road have been facing immense difficulties and after persistent efforts from public, officers, administration and other stakeholders, fund had been finally allocated by government for repair and maintenance of the said stretch of road.

Terming this stretch as a lifeline for both Pangin and Aalo, he further stated that the purpose of the meeting was to hold discussion with all stakeholders and to jointly deliberate and come up with a plan so as to ensure that work is executed in the best possible manner and the allocated fund is used most efficiently and judiciously.

He sought details regarding tender and DPR for the work, scope of work and details of fund from the executing department. While applauding the efforts of all stakeholder parties in relentlessly pursuing the matter, he sought their whole hearted cooperation, participation and support so as to ensure the best utilization of fund and for efficient execution of work.

A briefing on details and specifications of the work to be carried out including fund position was given by AE PWD (Highway) Gemar Padu.

A threadbare discussion with all member participants was held where various views, concerns and suggestions were put forth. The parties from both Pangin and Aalo extended their whole hearted cooperation in ensuring the most effective implementation of work for the greater interest of the public.

It was decided that a monitoring committee would be formed under the chairmanship of ADC headquarters with members to be chosen from concerned villages and areas to ensure the most effective and efficient work execution. It was directed that any complaint or grievance should be placed systematically in writing to the district administration which would take up the matter with concerned department or contractor. All cooperation was to be extended in carrying out the work smoothly in a free and fair manner. All stakeholders were urged to pursue the matter for sanctioning of the allocated fund to higher authorities through their elected representatives so that the much needed development would materialize at the earliest for greater public good.
