ITANAGAR, Jan 17:

Deputy Commissioner, Itanagar Capital Complex, Prince Dhawan chaired a city level Swachh Survekshan Workshop today which was attended by Councillors, Chief Municipal Executive Officer, administrative officers of Itanagar Capital Complex, Assistant Engineers and officials of IMC, and various NGOs engaged in sanitation activities. The details of Swachh Survekshan 2018 were elaborated in the workshop and the presentation uploaded in the website of District Administration Capital Complex for viewing of the general public.

Further 16 new vehicles for Itanagar Municipal Council were distributed among different wards. With these additional vehicles all the thirty wards would have a dedicated vehicle for garbage disposal. Additionally, each Sub division of IMC consisting of five wards, would have a dedicated vehicle for highway cleaning and a heavy duty excavator each.  The DC further stated that new dustbins have been procured which would be distributed to enable segregation of wastes into dry and wet wastes at individual household level.

All the waste collection points in the city would have two dustbins marked with different colors for wet and dry waste. Further, separate dustbin bags of two separate colors would be made available for household segregation of waste.

The DC appealed to the public to cooperate in keeping the city clean and participate in Swachh Survekshan 2018. He also requested the public to pay the civic charges and segregate wastes at household level.
