ITANAGAR, Oct 16: Despite the administrative ban on gambling activities across the Capital Complex it is going on clandestinely and in this connection, the administration carried out raids at several locations on Sunday and arrested 6 persons.
 
The team led by EAC Itanagar, Jiken Bomjen seized gambling materials from various sectors of Itanagar and arrested 6 persons in this connection and case was registered against them.

The DM has stressed that such illegal activities would not be permitted at any cost, any if anyone found conducting such events/ activities  would be booked under appropriate section of law under the Arunachal Pradesh Gambling(Prohibition) Act 2012 and all materials would be seized as per the laid down procedures.
The DM has further stressed that action may also be taken against those who indulge in such illegal activities under preventive detention under Arunachal Pradesh Prevention of unlawful Activities Act 2014.

The DM has further requested the denizens of Capital Complex to refrain from such illegal activities and to cooperate with the District Administration to root out such menace from society. Further, more surprise raids will continue henceforth, said the DM.
