Yupia, Jan 5: Issues pertaining to water supply to the Film and Television Institute, Jote was elaborately discussed during a coordination meeting of the District Administration, PRI leaders and Central Public Work Department ( CPWD) at the DC Conference Hall,Yupia on Monday.
Chairing the meeting  DC Papum Pare,  Jiken Bomjen called for coordination between all the stakeholders to resolve the water supply issues to FTI. 
“ The fact that FTI, Jote is first in the North East and third in the country is a matter of pride for entire Arunachal Pradesh. Such important project should be nurtured by all of us for its long-term success and sustainability,” Bomjen added.
While urging the CPWD to be empathetic to the grievances of the land donors, the DC added that engaging with the  stakeholders and the community for feedback and collaboration can contribute to effective infrastructure management in the future.
Replying to the request of the land donors and PRI members to appoint PHED as the executing agency for the water supply project to FTI, which otherwise is controlled by CPWD; DC Bomjen asked the leaders to submit a representation with proper justifications, duly countersigned by the admin officers of the jurisdiction. 
Taba Kunia, GPC Rakap while speaking on behalf of the land donors informed that the “public of Jullang, Rakap have cooperated with the CPWD and have made no claims on any civil work so far.”
“However, the water supply work, for which the survey was conducted by the PHE department, GoAP with the assistance of the PRI members and GBs of Jullang Rakap village , should involve the PRI members during the execution. PHED should be made the executing agency for the water supply project, as a in-house department will be easily available for repair and maintenance in the later period ,” he added.
Prasoon Kr. Pal, EE,CPWD while sharing the status of the water supply to FTI informed that “Since the efforts to supply water to FTI, through bore wells have failed due to water table issues, natural sources are being explored.”
He also agreed in principal to accommodate the land donors in the water supply project.
The FTI is an ambitious project of the Union Information and Broadcasting Ministry whose foundation stone was laid on 9th February, 2019 by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. 
GPCs of Rakap, Poma ,Khamir and  Shashikant, Project Manager, Kenge Constructions attended the meeting.
