ITANAGAR, Jan 18:Itanagar Municipal Council (IMC) Councillor, Gora Lotak today alleged the municipal body of fund mismanagement and of illegally appointing at least 36 persons quashing laid down norms. He further threatened to resort to democratic movement if the authority fails to take action against the defaulters.

Addressing media persons at press club today, Councillor Ward No.18, Gora Lotak informed  that he has already submitted a representation to Chief Minister Pema Khandu to initiate proper inquiry on the whole episode of illegal appointments in the IMC.

‘There is already inquiry going on against illegal appointments in the IMC, despite that such move has been initiated by few sitting at the helm of the municipal body,’ added Lotak.

Further claiming that there are already workers in IMC who are working without salary for many months, he said ‘Instead of new appointments the authority should absorb such employees.’

Further, the Councillor who revolted against his own organization also alleged that fund allocated for construction of Toilets has not been distributed to various wards.

‘It was decided that every family would be allocated at least Rs 4000 for construction of toilets but till date no fund has been allocated or distributed,’ he said.

Moreover there is also no record of civic charges deposited to the IMC office after collection from each household every month from every ward, Lotak added.

‘Only few people who are in the top chair of the IMC took such decision without following the laid down norms. They even don’t bother to convene business meeting of IMC,’ the Councillor asserted.

This daily couldn’t reach out to the Chief Councillor for comment on the allegations.
