YUPIA, Oct 15:Surface communication on the only inter-district road without passing through Assam, the Itanagar-Papu Nallah road connecting East Kameng, West Kameng, Tawang, Upper and Lower Subansiri and all Siang districts which was blocked at Kana Nallah permanent landslide block point zone since last two days was restored early this morning.

Construction firm M/S TK Consortium pressed men and machinery under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner Papum Pare, Tai Kaye.

The DC stated that the permanent and sinking land slide zone at 18Km from Yupia Tinali is a major problem and there is no alternate solution except realignment or diversion of road for a by-pass bridge below the road.

‘It is one of the major lifelines of Arunachal without passing through Assam and a long term mitigation plan is permanent solution of the problem,’ he added.

Further, road has been diverted as link road between Gumto to JNV Higher Secondary School was washed away Saturday night.

The DC further requested the appropriate authority for minimum budgetary support as Hostallam helicopter crash incident and Laptap landslide incident where huge liabilities are pending in relation to the search operations.
