ITANAGAR, Dec 3:  Chief Minister Pema Khandu has congratulated Arunachal Pradesh Advocate General Nilay Ananda Dutta for being recognized as a distinguished member of the Bar by the Bar Association of India during its annual “Lawyers of India Day” celebration at Jacaranda, India Habitat Centre at New Delhi today.

The Executive Committee of the Association had institutionalised 3rd December every year as the Lawyers of India Day commemorating the birth anniversary of Dr. Rajendra Prasad, the first President of India who was also an eminent lawyer. The day is marked by giving recognition to the continuing role of legal profession in socio-economic and political development of India.

Dutta, a highly qualified and learned advocate is one of the prominent faces in the legal arena of Guwahati High Court. He had also served the State as Advocate General during the period of former Chief Minister Late Dorjee Khandu.

In a statement this evening, Khandu said that it is the hard work and sincerity of Mr Dutta that has paid off. His recognition by the Bar Association of India is truly deserving, said Khandu while personally congratulating him over the phone.

The program saw participation of eminent personality like Fali Nariman, the ultimate name in Indian Judiciary, Justice (Rtd) AP Shah, former CJ of Delhi high Court, K K Venugopal, Attorney General of India, Dr. Lalit Bhasin, President of The Bar Association of India among others.
