BORDUMSA, Mar 1: In an effort to encourage dropout students to continue their studies, the Changlang District Administration has re-introduced its “Poorna Shiksha” initiative in the district.
To make the initiative successful, Circle Officer, Bordumsa, Iken Lendo today convened a meeting with all the dropout students of the Bordumsa area and shared information related to “Poorna Shiksha”.
He informed that under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner Dr. Devansh Yadav, the second phase of the “Poorna Shiksa” has been started again. The initiative is the brainchild of DC Changlang who took the challenge to eradicate illiteracy as well as minimize the dropout ratio in the district, he added.
More than 269 dropout students from Changlang District will get benefits under the second phase of the Poorna Shiksha initiative where they will get financial support as well as other required assistance to pursue their studies in National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS), the CO said.
Earlier, students who attended the meeting urged the administration for one examination center of NIOS in Bordumsa area. Changlang is too far from Bordumsa, we cannot afford to stay in Changlang and most of the students are from poor families as well as stay in the outskirts of the town, said a student.
