DCM reviews hydropower projects to strengthen state energy roadmap

Attending the closing ceremony of the JK Tyre 4X4 Fury on the third day of the fourth edition of Orange Festival of Adventure & Music 2017, Deputy Chief Minister, Chowna Mein said that there are lots of aspiring talents among the youths of the State and the need of the hour is to provide them a proper platform to grow.
“Government is ready to support every platform which gives an opportunity to the budding talents of the State to perform and excel,” he said.
He stated that Arunachal is passing through a transitional phase, a change for betterment and good days await with the improvement of road connectivity.
“Dambuk which remains cut off most of the time will now see the light of day with two important bridges, over Dibang and Sisar (Sisiri) rivers nearing completion,” the deputy chief minister said while exhorting people to take up agriculture and horticulture cash crops on large scale as market linkages will improve in days to come.
He further lauded the Director of OFAM, Abu Tayeng and his team for successfully spearheading the organization of this annual event for the fourth consecutive year.
‘The Festival has helped to promote Dambuk and its sweet oranges to the world outside,’ he observed.
Mein who has attended the festival for the third time this year said that the OFAM is getting better with each passing year.
Parliamentary Secretary for WRD and the local legislator, Gum Tayeng requested the Deputy Chief Minister to press for early completion of the approach roads to Sisar bridge. She said that due to non-completion of approach roads on both sides of the bridge, the construction work of the bridge has been over delayed beyond its timeline.
On the occasion, Mein gave away the prizes of the winner of JK Tyre Orange 4X4 Fury and the Orange and Fruit Exhibitions organized by the Department of Horticulture, Roing.
JK Tyre Orange 4X4 Fury was won by Chandigarh based Gerrari Offroaders followed by Association of Offroaders of Nagaland as first runners up and MOCCA (Arunachal Team) as second runners up.
In the Fruit Exhibitions, Lozar Linggi won the first prize among Orange Fruits and Najing Modi won the first prize in Mosambi.
Deputy Commissioner Roing, Mithali Namchoom, , Superintendent of Police Sanjay Singh Sain, ADC Dambuk, Atul Tayeng, attended the festival among others.
