 ITANAGAR, Jul 17: Minister for Veterinary & Animal Husbandry, Agriculture, Horticulture, Fisheries and Sports & Youth Affairs  Dr. Mohesh Chai today gave away 30,000 fingerlings to progressive fish farmers of Doimukh under free distribution programme. He had also released 10,000 fingerlings into the paddy plots of Tana Hari under paddy-cum-pisciculture programme which is being practiced in his paddy fields for the last many years.
This was during his visit to Government Fish Farm at Emchi and two private farms. He was accompanied by Er. Geyum Padu, Secretary (Fisheries), C.Ramesan, Under Secretary, Planning & Development along with the officers from the Directorate of Fisheries. The Minister and the Secretary Fisheries were apprised of various activities being undertaken in these farms and had a detailed discussion with the District Fishery Development Officer (DFDO), Papum Pare and the owners of the private fish farms regarding the benefits derived from the activities and in what way it is helping in popularizing pisciculture  in the area.
Dr. Chai was impressed with the activities and advised the fish farmers to maintain proper record of production of Table Fish and Fish Seed and the income earned thereof which will help in self assessing and analyzing the trend of growth in income which is directly proportional to the production and productivity of the farm. Moreover it will also help in planning future strategy and scaling up of activities in a planned way.
