ITANAGAR, Aug 7: Although the current trend of recoveries surpassing new cases continued on Saturday, three deaths took the state's Covid casualty tally to 240.
Casualties
All the three casualties occurred on Friday evening. At Zonal Hospital Tezu, a 35-yr old female Covid patient from Lohit suffering from mental disability and was not vaccinated expired due to Covid pneumonia. A 65-yr old female Covid patient from Lower Subansiri district died at DCH Chimpu due to ARDS with Covid pneumonia.  She was suffering from Myelodysplastic syndrome and was vaccinated with dose 1. A 24-yr old female Covid patient from the ICC suffering from pregnancy related comorbidities and was not vaccinated expired at DCH Chimpu due to ARDS with Covid pneumonia.
Recoveries, New Cases, Sample Collection
Of the 248 new cases (asymptomatic 145; symptomatic 103) recorded from across the state, the first 8 districts were -ICC (68; 8.6% positivity), Lower Subansiri (42), Lohit and West Kameng (13 each) and East Siang, LDV, Lower Siang and Upper Subansiri (11 each). West Siang recorded 7 cases (4.5 % positivity).
A total of 404 recoveries were recorded on Saturday and the first 5 districts are ICC (109), Lower Subansiri (50),  Papum Pare (37), Anjaw (35) and West Kameng (22). 790 samples were collected from the ICC on the day for Covid testing among a total of 4469 in the state. The number of Covid active patients in the state after a further decline is now 2873 and recoveries on Saturday evening stood at 46803.  
Vaccination
In the '18 years and above' age category, 2037 beneficiaries were vaccinated with dose 1 (65 % coverage) and the coverage percentage for 2nd dose rose to 18 % with 1026 taking their jabs. 
Occupancy status
There were 54 at DCH Chimpu, 15 at SQF Lekhi, 1 at DCHC Midpu, 3 at DCH Pasighat and 13 at DCHC as per Saturday’s State Covid Bulletin.  
Containment Zones
The number of Containment Zones have further declined to 30 (across 10 districts) and the total number of positive cases in such zones has also fallen to 580.
