DCM reviews hydropower projects to strengthen state energy roadmap

Cashless challan, an initiative of the Government of Arunachal Pradesh was launched by Union Home Secretary Rajiv Gauba at CMs conference hall on Friday in presence of Chief Secretary Satya Gopal, DGP Sandeep Goel and a host of other officers.
The Deputy Commissioner Capital Complex Prince Dhawan presented a powerpoint during the launch highlighting the features and the process of the cashless traffic challan payment system.
He informed that the initiative is a step towards Digital India and currently the project is being started on pilot basis at 8 locations of the capital complex which shall later be implemented simultaneously in other districts.
He informed that the system would bring transparency as citizens can pay through credit/ debit card or Aadhaar enabled biometric system through BHIM App.
BHIM-Aadhaar Pay app will allow users to make payments through the fingerprint scanner, by authenticating the biometric details of a user with Aadhaar database. If a citizen wants to make payment, then he/she just needs to enter his Aadhaar Number in the app and select the bank from which the payment is to be made and use the biometric scan as the password for the transaction.
Upon entering the Aadhar Number, the app would automatically fetch the bank accounts linked with your Aadhar number, then one can make the selection of bank for payment as per his/her choice
The earlier system of payment by cash would now be transferred by an easy bank transfer method.
During the programme, the SP Capital Sagar Singh Kalsi also presented a live demonstration of cashless challan through BHIM App.
Later, the Union Home Secretary also distribute POS machines to the traffic wardens.
As a step towards Digital India, the District Adminstration Capital Complex is promoting digital cashless payments in a big way by taking on board merchants and vendors of the market on the BHIM Aadhaar Pay App in collaboration with State Bank of India and Itanagar Market Welfare Association. The DA will distribute free biometric readers to the merchants and also establish free WiFi zone in the Akashdeep market. The DA has also formed special teams to get businesses on board the GeM portal to ease public procurement on the digital platform.
