ITANAGAR, Nov 21:Capital police solved a kidnapping case within 6 hours on November 20 and rescued the victim from the clutches of the kidnappers.
Capital Superintendent of Police, Sagar Singh Kalsi informed that on Monday at around 4 PM one Atiranjan Das of Ganga market came to the Itanagar Police Station and reported that at around 2.30 PM he received a call from his son informing that he has been kidnapped and that the kidnappers are asking a ransom of 3 lakhs for his release.
Immediately a case vide FIR NO-300/17 u/s-364 (A) 34 IPC was registered and teams were formed under supervision of OC PS Tabi Bage, ASI AK Jha and others to lay trap and conduct raids at possible hideouts.
Scientific and human intelligence traps were laid at various locations at Jully, Ganga, G Extension, Division-IV area and one Kabak Tama was apprehended from Ganga area and subsequently the victim was also rescued. Operation was carried out whole night and into the early hours. Two more co-accused, Tai Kumar and Gem Tara were arrested from Division-IV area. Efforts are on to apprehend any other co-accused who are at large, the SP informed.
Kalsi said that capital police is dedicated to maintain the law and order and assured the public that all crimes will be dealt seriously and preventive action alongwith participation of community through ‘Nagrik Bhaichara Committee’ are also on to create a peaceful atmosphere in the city.
