ITANAGAR, Aug 17:Deputy Commissioner Itanagar Capital Complex, Prince Dhawan today submitted the duly filled up format of Open Defecation Free (ODF) to the Mission Director, Swachh Bharat Mission Department of UD & Housing.

 The DC informed that it was possible after rigorous effort by the Municipal Officers along with councillors in sensitizing the public not to defecate in open and organising numerous IEC program in various wards. And accordingly declarations of open defecation free have been obtained from the Chief Councillor, CMEO, Councillors, Schools and NGOs, Self Help Groups. 

In the letter to the Director, the DC has also requested to intimate the MoHUA for engaging third party to carry out the ODF certification process for Itanagar. Appreciating the role of IMC, Dhawan also appealed the citizens of the Capital Complex to cooperate and contribute their share in maintaining this status.

The CMEO Habung Lampung informed that recently 789 individual household toilets, 5 pay and use toilet have also been constructed by IMC. He also informed that the process of awareness program cum sensitization on ODF was launched on May 22 last.
